The Green Symphony of Kaduna: A Promise Kept 🌿🌍

It began on a crisp morning March 12th, 2025. That was the day the silence of an empty field was broken by the sound of shovels hitting the earth. It was the day the EcoClimate Foundation decided that this patch of land in Kaduna would not just remain dust and dry grass, but would become a cradle for life.

If you walk through the rows today, you won’t just see black nursery bags; you will see a living, breathing timeline of growth. What started as tiny, fragile seeds have now engaged in a slow, beautiful race toward the sun.

Listen closely to the rustle of the leaves, and you can almost hear the future they promise. There are the Grafted Mangoes and Budded Oranges, quietly preparing to one day offer shade and sweetness to hungry children. Standing tall beside them are the Paw-Paws and Guavas, ready to burst with flavor. The Moringa trees are already stretching out, eager to offer their healing leaves, while the Parkia (Locust Bean) and Tamarind settle their roots deep, promising strength and tradition.

But this isn’t just a fruit garden; it is a fortress against climate change. We are nurturing the Neem and Gum Arabic the resilient warriors that will hold the soil together and fight back the desert.

This vibrant nursery is a testament to what happens when hands join together across the globe. While our team tends to the soil here in Nigeria, we are fueled by a powerful alliance. This is the NAERLS Agroforestry Project coming to life, driven by the shared vision of AGRA and ThriveAgric. It is a dream watered by the support of the Gates Foundation, KFW, The Rockefeller Foundation, and UK International Development.

From that first day in March to this lush reality today, every drop of water we pour is a message to the future: We are here, we are growing, and we are healing the earth one seedling at a time.
